DETAILS DESCRIPTION: Operating without any form of government funding the Phoenix Zoo has gained established an international reputation for its efforts on behalf of wildlife. They participate in a number of local and international efforts on behalf of endangered species, a few of which are the Mexican wolf, thick-billed parrot, black-footed ferret, Bornean orangutan, Sumatran tiger and Asian elephant.
